I photographed Danielle & Mark engagement session in Manhattan Beach. The lighting was absolutely perfect since it was documented during golden hour. We walked around the beach, shot underneath the pier, and splashed in the water. I was able to shoot a ton of different angles in a very short amount of time.
Why did you guys decide to do an engagement session?
We chose to do an engagement session to get pictures for our save-the-dates. It’s also nice to commemorate this period in our relationship since it’s such a short window of time.
What were your feelings before and after the engagement shoot? Are you happy you guys did this?
We were a little nervous before the shoot. We don’t always like pictures of ourselves, and I didn’t want that to be the case for this. After seeing the pictures, though, we’re happy we did this. Chris did an amazing job setting us at ease and capturing us in a real, yet flattering way.
What made you pick UCLA & Manhattan Beach for your locations?
We picked UCLA because we both went to school there and it’s a beautiful campus. Manhattan Pier we chose because we live in Redondo Beach and both love the beach and the ocean. Manhattan is a pretty pier, so it was the perfect choice for a photo shoot.
Did the engagement shoot help you get more comfortable in front of the camera?
Yes! In addition to getting comfortable in front of the camera, it was a great opportunity to see what angles and lighting are most flattering on us, and I know that will be helpful for us feeling confident during the wedding photos.
